Terms of Service

Last updated: 5 June 2025

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of InQuiry Letter Review (the "Service"), operated by InQuiry Letter Review ("we", "us", "our"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. The Service

InQuiry Letter Review is a Chrome browser extension that provides AI-assisted review, editing, and enhancement of medical specialist correspondence letters within the InQuiry transcription platform. The Service is intended for use by registered healthcare professionals in Australia.

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service at any time with reasonable notice to registered users.

2. Accounts

You must create an account to use the Service. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account.

You must provide accurate information when registering. One account per person. You may not share your account credentials with others.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, abuse the Service, or engage in fraudulent activity.

3. Credits and Billing

The Service operates on a prepaid credit system. Credits are purchased in AUD and deducted from your balance each time you perform an AI review. The amount deducted depends on the length of the letter and the type of review performed.

Credits are non-refundable except where required by Australian Consumer Law. Credits have no expiry date.

Payments are processed by Stripe. By making a purchase, you agree to Stripe's terms of service. Your billing email must match your InQuiry Letter Review account email for credits to be applied automatically.

We reserve the right to adjust credit rates. Existing unused credits will not be subject to retrospective rate increases — only new usage after any rate change takes effect.

If your balance reaches zero, AI reviews will be blocked until you top up your account.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree to use the Service only for its intended purpose: reviewing and improving medical correspondence letters. You must not:

5. Clinical Responsibility

InQuiry Letter Review is an editorial and language tool, not a medical device. All AI-suggested changes are shown to you for review before being applied. You remain solely responsible for the clinical accuracy, completeness, and appropriateness of any letter you submit for signing or dispatch.

The AI is instructed never to alter clinical facts, diagnoses, medications, or dosages. However, you must review all suggested changes carefully before applying them. We cannot guarantee that the AI will never make an error in language or formatting that could affect the meaning of clinical content.

Do not rely on the Service as a substitute for clinical judgement, peer review, or medical indemnity protections.

6. Patient Privacy

You are responsible for ensuring that your use of the Service complies with your obligations under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), the Australian Privacy Principles, and any applicable state or territory health records legislation.

Letter content submitted for review is transmitted to a third-party AI service. Where clinically possible, we recommend removing or de-identifying patient-specific information (name, date of birth, Medicare number, address) before submitting a letter for review.

7. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its software, design, and AI prompts, is the intellectual property of InQuiry Letter Review. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the Service for its intended purpose during your subscription period.

Letters you submit remain your property. We claim no ownership over the content you process through the Service.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Australian law, our liability to you for any loss or damage arising from your use of the Service is limited to the amount of credits you have purchased in the preceding 30 days.

We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss, including loss of clinical outcomes, professional reputation, or regulatory consequences arising from your use of or reliance on AI-suggested edits.

9. Australian Consumer Law

Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot be excluded, restricted, or modified. Where the ACL applies, our liability is limited to supplying the Service again or paying the cost of having the Service supplied again.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Queensland.

11. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email to registered users with at least 14 days' notice before taking effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
